Stainless steel round tube fittings used in Venice Biennale projection tower art installation, featuring precise angles, matte finish, and showcasing creative design and public art possibilities.
Stainless steel round tube fittings challenge the traditional perception of being used solely for stair handrails. Design engineers have applied them in artistic hardware installations, calculating precise angles and lengths, and integrating them with other hardware components. The subtle stainless steel matte finish preserves the material’s shine while highlighting the delicate details of the artwork.
In 2019, the 58th Venice Biennale Taiwan Pavilion showcased the exhibition “3x3x6”, where artist Shu-Li Cheng explored themes of surveillance and liberation. The stainless-steel round tubes support the top five rings, and the projection equipment required for the entire exhibition hall needs to be installed on these five rings, so the hardware equipment must be able to bear enough weight and must be safe. The engineer use SS:2027A stainless steel round tube handrail perp. post saddle connector, SS:2022A stainless steel round tube handrail perp. post connector reducer flat, and SS:2005E stainless steel round tube internal T connector these three kinds of stainless-steel accessories weld the column with the 5-layer ring to strengthen its safety and increase the gravity, and then set up all projectors on the projection tower installation so that the projection tower stans stably in the whole field.

The surface treatment of stainless-steel round pipe fittings include sand surface, bright surface, painting, and titanium coating. No matter what kind of surface treatment it is, it is processed according to the needs of users and the environment. In this case, although the projection tower is an important installation in the entire exhibition space, it should not be too abrupt in this exhibition space. Therefore, a low-key primary color polished sand surface treatment is selected, which is close to the gray color of the stone floor and stone wall, so that the projection tower can be integrated with the ambient color.
